Return to Stonehedge

Across the Road

About a month ago, we discovered Stonehedge Gardens, a fascinating place just south of Tamaqua. But there was nothing much in bloom, and we figured there would be by now, and there was. Rode home through some unexplored territory and found some nice landscape material!

Spring is here. Life is good.

Stonehedge Gardens

Pond at Stonehedge Gardens

I found Stonehedge Gardens quite by accident by playing around with an iPhone app, called “Roadtrippers.”  It’s a good app in concept, but the execution – not so much. It did, however, lead me to Stonehedge Gardens, a wonderful place a few miles south of Tamaqua. From their web siteThe mission of Stonehedge Gardens is to provide a healing, sacred, inclusive environment for the cultivation of personal and community transformation and wellness through the gardens and nature, the arts and holistic education.

The place is also a photographer’s dream, having plenty to offer both myself and my road trip regular, Phil. Trust me, it is not so easy to find a place that enchants us both. I could go on and on about the beauty of the place (and nothing is as of yet in bloom except for a few croci), the history, the impressive list of activities and events, its fascinating shop, and most of all, the friendliest staff you could ever want to meet.  But you should just go and see for yourself. http://www.stonehedgegardens.org/
