Small Wonders

A nice walk in the woods, and many small wonders appear!

Altitude and Attitude

The Low Point

For those familiar with the area, the trail head is at the intersection of Chase Road and Route 29, where the two forks of Harveys Creek meet. From that low point, you can walk up through the woods, which are part of the Lackawanna State Forest, and then onto a power line right of way.  Today, according to my topo map, I climbed about 700 feet over about 3/4 of a mile.

But it was worth it – not so much for the view, but for the sights along the way, which I have learned to double by not retracing my steps on the return trip.

nb: I have received a few inquiries regarding the availability of purchasing images. While I am loathe to promote such things in my posts, it is simplicity itself. Simply click on any picture in the slide show, and then on “Add to Cart,” and you will see what is available and the pricing.  While I have not personally seen most of the trinkets, and shudder slightly at the thought of one of my images on a key tag or deck of playing cards, I have seen the prints, and they are of a very nice quality.

The Beautiful and Bizarre

Harveys Creek

There’s always something new at this strange and wonderful place.
