Burnside Photographic "The question is not what you look at, but what you see." – Henry David Thoreau

November 4, 2012

I had occasion to spend the afternoon at Gettysburg yesterday.  The day was bleak, chilly and breezy, but toward evening, there was a period of marvelous light. I had the thought that the cold day and beautiful light contrasted sharply with the hot, horrid July days in 1863, but concluded that yesterday it surely seemed like sacred ground, which it most certainly is.

I have a separate group of shots from Devil’s Den coming soon.
