U. S. Army Captures River Common!

U. S. Army Brass Band

The United States Army took over the Wilkes-Barre River Common tonight.  At just after 7:00pm, a small band launched a torrent of musical notes on the public….

OK, enough of the frivolity.  It was a beautiful night as Wyoming Seminary’s Performing Arts Institute presented the U. S. Army Brass Band.  The weather was perfect, the sunset beautiful, the crowd large and the music ranged from old time jazz to the Beatles.  Not all of the audience was in front of the band, as some chose to check out the concert from the river.

Sem’s PAI events are rapidly becoming “must sees” at the amphitheater, so watch for the next event by checking out www.rivercommon.org, where you’ll find info on all the goings-on at the River Common.

Delaware Water Gap

Above the Gap

I’d bet that a fairly large percentage of people who view my pictures have travelled across the Delaware River into New Jersey on I-80 East and looked up and to the left at the rock outcropping that bears a faint resemblance to a profile of an Indian.  For most of my life, I’ve said to myself, “I’m going up there some time.”

Sunday, I checked another item off my life’s to do list.  It’s a long climb, but it’s worth it.  If these images encourage you to make the trek, let me know – I’d like to do it again!
